my 2026 web designer tech stack (with prices!)

Hi Reader,

Are you changing anything in your business right now? Your website? Your email marketing? I'm a couple weeks into my move from Podia to Kit for sending these emails, and there are some things I love. And some... let's just generously call them "learning moments". My last email to you was one of those! So, if you got it twice or if it looked weird on mobile, thanks for bearing with me. Change is never easy.

Disclosure: This email contains affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, I'll be compensated at no cost to you.

A few of you were curious about my overall tech stack, so just really quickly, here are the main things I use for my web design business and how much those currently cost, based on yearly billing:

Teachery for courses; lifetime deal of $550*

Squarespace (obvs); Core plan $29/mo, they are raising prices again and I'm salty about it**

Canva for graphics, including YouTube thumbnails; $12/mo

Kit for email marketing; creator plan starts at $33/mo, but I'm on the Pro plan to test out Subscriber Signals and some other new features

HoneyBook for automated proposals, invoices, and questionnaires; Starter plan $29/mo (that link gives you 30% off)

Breely for scheduling calls (just moved over from Acuity); $7/mo

Tella for video recording (replacing Loom and Descript with this); Premium plan at $19/mo

* If you are considering courses or communities (yes, even for use with your clients), the lifetime deal grandfathers you into Teachery 4.0, launching later this year. And the price goes up soon... $550 now, increasing to $950. I'm moving my courses over from Podia right now.

** Squarespace used to say you'd be locked into whatever pricing plan you joined at. That went out the window a few years ago, and I don't like it. Especially because the features they are rolling out don't (in my opinion) justify these rate hikes. But it's still the best platform for me and my clients, so here we are.

These are just the things I'm using daily that are top of mind. Honestly, it's like death by a thousand cuts with all the software I'm paying for (and I'm sure you feel this too!). I'm doing my best to be aware of what I'm spending and really consider whether it's worth it. I'm also actively looking for more lifetime deals from bootstrapped companies, so if you know of any great ones you are using in your own business, please send them my way!

Question for you: What is one tool in your toolbox that you'd never give up? Reply and let me know!

Thanks for having me in your inbox,

Christy
