👉 WHAT'S NEW WITH ME

• I'm hosting an unofficial Squarespace meetup in Austin, Texas, on Friday, October 9. More info and register here.​
• ​Somewhat Useful, my podcast with WIll Myers, will be back for a new season on September 29. We are so excited to talk about what's new in the digital world.
• I'll be heading to NYC for Squarespace Circle Day next month and wrote a blog post about how to prepare for the in-person or online event. You can read it here.
• Did you know you can schedule stories on Instagram? (You probably did, but it was news to me!) I had to figure it out, so I made a quick video on how to do it.

👉 WHAT'S NEW WITH SQUARESPACE?

• Background Images on Stacks. Add background images to Stacks to create more immersive sites featuring dynamic block layouts. I'm very excited about this one.
• Image Studio. Generate, edit, and use high-quality images that match your client’s brand, site, and offerings with Image Studio, the new AI tool. I'm less excited about this one. (If you've tried this, will you let me know if you got anything usable?) More about it here if you're interested.
• Speaking of AI... Billing. AI credit packs now available for purchase.
• Email Campaigns. Blast campaign sends are no longer offered with a free Email Campaigns trial.
• Using Google Ads? Adding ads.txt just got a WHOLE LOT easier.
• Web development. Self-service tool for OAuth credentials. You and your clients can now create and manage OAuth credentials to develop extensions without contacting Customer Support.
• Commerce: Pay links for domains. From the Domains dashboard, you and your clients with active Squarespace Payments accounts can now create and share branded checkout links to accept payments without a website. This was working with just PayPal previously.

👉 WHAT'S NEW IN THE COMMUNITY?

• I talked with Kristine Neil about what it's like to build an enterprise website on Squarespace. If you are curious about building a BIG site on the platform, here's what you should know first.
• My friend Colin Irwin created a tool so you can grab the much more useful jpg or png version of images on your website instead of getting the default webp. Check out Image Tools here.​
• Miles Noble launched SquareLocator, a directory of Squarespace templates, extensions, and plugins.
• And Ina of Pink Fig Creative just launched a Homepage Framework Builder to help you get your homepage structure and copy done in minutes.

👉 FUN & USEFUL THINGS

• This year has been weird income-wise as I've slowed down client work to focus on building a course (and, boy, do I hope courses aren't actually dead). I use Monach to stay on budget and get a snapshot of my finances whenever I need it. If you want to try it out, this link gives you 50% off your first year. It's the nicest interface I've seen for a personal budgeting and planning tool.
• Google Search Console rolled out platform properties, so now you can get analytics on how content on social media and video apps performs on Google Search, Discover, and Google News. Here's how to set it up.
