Hi Reader,
You're getting this email because you grabbed my Squarespace Prelaunch Checklist, another one of my freebies, or perhaps because someone in Kit's Creator Network recommended my emails. Wherever you found me, I'm glad you're here. My emails are all written by me, not robots. π«π€
I'm old enough to remember the PSA before the nightly news in the 80s, "It's 10pm. Do you know where your children are?" It's funny because it was such a different world then... our parents actually needed a reminder. But here we are in July of 2026, and I'm thinking about where my business is in the age of AI, and honestly? I feel like I need a reminder to check on it because overwhelm is real, and also, it seems a bit like a moving target. If you're feeling the same way, hit reply and let me know.
Here's what's top of mind. We are bombarded with SO MUCH information now that I'm needing more time away from technology than ever. Which is at odds with how much time I need to spend keeping up with how fast that technology is changing. Every day, I get an email from someone who has created a new plugin they are excited to share, plus Squarespace is rolling out new features, plus my social feeds are packed full, plus there are new apps to try out... and more. I know, you get it. And I don't have a solution other than I'm intentionally slowing down. I'm not keeping up with it all, and I'm making conscious choices about where I'm spending my time.
What I AM doing is spending time on the things that matter most to my business... Squarespace and web design. So if you don't want to have to keep up with it all, I'm happy to have you here and share what I'm learning.
And for now, I'm taking a page from Ferris Bueller. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

π WHAT'S NEW WITH ME
- I've moved my newsletter back to Kit. I'm still working on setting up automations and systems here, but it's good to be back. Plus, I'm excited about all the new features they've rolled out. Stay tuned for more on this! (Question... how do you feel about this email layout? I'm still working on it.)
- I'm working on the Two Day Website System for web designers. My goal is to have this launched before mid-September. But (see Ferris Bueller quote above), we'll see how it goes.
- I'm heading to NYC in two weeks to help celebrate the launch of Eventually. If you are looking for an events solution for Squarespace because the built-in one is terrible, this is what you need. Free for free events, you pay a flat rate for ticketed events. I've been wishing for something like this since 2018. Want to learn more? I'm hosting a YouTube Live with the founder next Thursday. Come and ask all your questions!

βTeachery. Two years ago, I switched to Podia, and itβs a great platform, but Iβve been taking a hard look at my subscriptions, and itβs time to consider tools that offer a lifetime deal. Teachery's lifetime deal is going away August 15, so if you are looking for a course platform (or think you might need one in the next few years) that has nice people building it and want to lock in lifetime pricing, I'd grab it now. I'll be moving over to it in the next few months.β
π WHAT'S NEW WITH SQUARESPACE?
- Email Campaigns: You can now automatically tag or remove tags from new subscribers when building automations. This is a big step forward!
- Commerce: New reserved cart & countdown timer to ecommerce sites. This feature temporarily holds inventory for visitors when they add eligible items to their cart, incentivizing them to purchase.
- Invoicing: New automated invoice follow-ups. Your and your clients' customers will now automatically receive reminders at 3, 7, 14, and 30 days overdue. This was a MUCH-needed feature.
- US Pricing plan updates: Site plan pricing, excluding legacy Commerce Basic and Commerce Advanced plans, has increased for US-based site owners. BOO. π
- Acuity. There are some updates here (QR codes, waitlists, and it's been down a bunch lately), but my two cents is just use Breely instead.
- AI Credits and AI Visibility features. Squarespace says "To help you better track site performance, new AI Visibility tracking features are now available, like an analytics dashboard. You can also now redeem AI Credits to use AI features like Beacon AI Chat." Yeah, I also have a hot take on this one. Just use Claude. Or ChatGPT. None of this AI stuff built into Squarespace is very good yet, plus they are charging extra for additional credits.
- Animations. I made a video on how to (and NOT to) use them.β
π WHAT'S NEW IN THE COMMUNITY?
- Roland at SQSMods launched Edit Squarespace Code Blocks, without dealing with the code. Perfect for sites with code blocks you're handing off to clients, because now they can maintain them on their own. Unlimited usage on ANY site for one lifetime fee. Grab it before the price goes up!
- Made by Dave just rolled out SiteViewer, a Workflow/Markup competitor. I've not tried it yet, but Dave does great work, so I'm excited to check it out. You can try it totally free for 14 days to make sure it's a good fit.
